A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car in Stockport last night. The 42-year-old man was hurt in the collision with a silver Ford S-Max near a bus stop on the A6 outside Stockport college at 10.25pm on Saturday.

Today (Sunday) Greater Manchester Police confirmed details of the incident as they launched an investigation and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
