A driver has been arrested after their car flipped over on the A580 East Lancs Road in a single vehicle collision. A wheel had become detached from the overturned car and landed in the opposing carriageway and hit another vehicle.
The East Lancs dual carriageway had to be closed for a couple of hours late on Friday. Greater Manchester Traffic Police closed the A580 in both directions and managed to free the driver uninjured.
The driver was handed a roadside breathalyser test and gave a positive reading. The driver has been arrested and remanded in police custody pending further enquiries.
