The suit alleges that Laundrie informed his parents he killed Petito “on or about,” August 28, days before she was reported missing, and that they were planning to help him flee the country after the murder. Per the lawsuit, Petito’s family are seeking damages for “intentional infliction of emotional distress.” The hearing today will see the judge, Hunter W.

Huh. Well, we guess Brian Laundrie‘s parents already know how ridiculously suspicious basically all their actions have been throughout this ordeal and are just leaning into it at this point.

After Brian Laundrie‘s remains were discovered, there was a very real concern we would never get answers about the murder of Gabby Petito. One of the only avenues of hope is the notebook the fugitive had with him — that maybe he had written down his own account of events, anything he knew.

Finally finding Brian Laundrie after a month long manhunt should have been a relief for everyone following the case. Unfortunately the fact the authorities were not able to bring him in alive and question the sole person of interest means the murder of Gabby Petito may never be completely solved.

While many were relieved that Brian Laundrie’s parents decided to join the search for their missing son after doing little to help for over a month, their sudden about-face still felt a bit random.

Questions are still swirling about Gabby Petito’s death, but right now it’s not a matter of what the answers are, but who has them.
