Owen Simon, a former marketing executive with Group W Productions and The Mike Douglas Show, died Friday in Los Angeles, his family said.
He was 93. Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Simon started his career with KQV and KDKA radio in Pittsburgh. He worked for Group W Productions (CBS) in New York and Philadelphia before coming to Los Angeles when The Mike Douglas Show relocated to California in 1978.
He received the Promax Lifetime Achievement Industry Award, which recognized his contributions to creative services during his 40-year career.
Survivors include his children Ed, Julie and Melissa and grandsons, Jake, Kyle, Perry, Andrew and Michael. His wife of 41 years, Selma, predeceased him.
