'My Little Pony' Movie to Skip Theaters & Debut on Netflix

The upcoming My Little Pony movie is heading straight to Netflix! Originally, Paramount Pictures was set to distribute My Little Pony‘s theatrical release.

The CGI- animated film was scheduled to debut in theaters on September 24, 2021. According to THR, Netflix has purchased the worldwide rights to the film from Entertainment One, a production company owned by Hasbro.

The streamer will release the film later the year and no release date has been set. Netflix also recently purchased the international rights to Paramount’s The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, which debuted on the streaming service in June.
