Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been removed from Football Manager 2022, following the release of a new update to the game's database.
Greenwood, 20, was arrested last month on suspicion of rape and assault. He was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
He was released on bail pending further investigation on February 2.Sports Interactive, which develops Football Manager, released the Main Winter Update for the latest edition of the popular football game on Thursday.
The update features January transfers around the world, attribute changes, game fixes and more - but no longer includes Greenwood, who has been removed from the database. "Any player or official serving an indefinite suspension from football, for whatever reason, has been removed from Football Manager in the latest update," A Sports Interactive spokesperson told Manchester Evening News."If and when that suspension is lifted, the player or official will be reinstated at the next scheduled opportunity."Football Manager is not the first computer game series to remove Greenwood from its servers.
