Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window could help Manchester United become favourites for Harry Kane’s signature. City are understood to be leading the race for Haaland, who is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.Haaland’s £63million (€75m) release clause, which becomes active this summer, has attracted just about every major European club to his availability. After missing out on Kane last summer and failing to replace Sergio Aguero in January, Pep Guardiola is keen to land a world-class striker. While they do face competition, Real Madrid are more focused on signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.One aspect City did not consider is that moving from Kane to Haaland could leave the former open for rivals United.

According to The Mirror, United are watching developments at Tottenham closely, with Kane about to enter the final two years of his contract in north London.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy refused to sell Kane to City last summer, winning the battle of will, despite the striker using every trick in the book to try to force through a move. But as he moves into his final two years of his deal and turns 29 in July, Levy will be aware of his most prized asset declining in value.HAVE YOUR SAY!
