Wayne Rooney is adamant Harry Maguire should start for England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after jumping in to defend the Manchester United captain.
Maguire has struggled to find his best form at Old Trafford and beyond this season. During the latest international break, Maguire was subjected to boos from some England supporters at Wembley and that incident prompted widespread reaction.
Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish all showed their support for the United centre-back. Since then, the Three Lions have discovered their World Cup fate with the USA and Iran waiting in Group B, while they'll be joined by either Scotland, Wales or Ukraine.
