Grangemouth drunk called 999 and claimed he was 'trapped' in burning building

A man struck terror into fellow residents of a three-storey block of flats by calling 999 and falsely claiming there was a fire there in the middle of the night.

Bobby Aitken, 43, said he was "trapped in the building" by the blaze. Two fire engines, a fire responder vehicle, an ambulance and a police car rushed to the scene, at 27 Marshall Street, in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, shortly before 1.00 am.
