Her unique story began back home in Afghanistan - where she grew up in a strict Muslim family. But after the Taliban conquered Kabul in the 1990s, her whole life changed.Yasmeena was terrified when Taliban fighters paraded the streets of Kabul when she was just a little girl. She witnessed with her own eyes men and women being beaten, while female figures in her life said “there was no such thing as rape” under the Taliban.
