Marks & Spencer stores will open until midnight to help shoppers pick up on essentials in the run up to Christmas. The upmarket retailer said the longer hours will give customers extra time to grab last-minute food or presents amid social distancing rules.
It means entry queues are likely to be shorter, while more customers will be able to pick up groceries in time for December 25.
The extended opening times include almost all of M&S' food-only outlets, while a number of those who stock clothing will also open until later.
The longer hours will apply on December 21, 22 and 23. Christmas Eve hours are likely to be different to regular opening times, but the midnight hours won't apply.
