Machete-wielding robbers attacked a shop keeper after storming a post office. Two men targeted the post office in Richmond Drive, Leigh, on Wednesday morning.
Police say the pair escaped with a quantity of cash after assaulting the shop keeper. The 64-year-old man was left requiring hospital treatment for minor injuries, but has since been discharged.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
