The body of a teenaged boy has been found in a river, police have tragically said. Officers swooped on Clifton Country Park, Clifton, along with underwater search teams.
His body was then found. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 3.30pm on Tuesday 2 June 2020, police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a teenage boy last seen in the River Irwell near to Clifton Country Park. "Emergency services attended alongside underwater search teams and sadly found the body of a boy – believed to be 14-years-old – in the water a short time later.
