The elderly man at the centre of a murder investigation in Trafford has been named - as a suspect was detained under the Mental Health Act.
John Neil, understood to have been in his 80s, was found by paramedics in a critical condition at a property on Riddings Road in Timperley on Sunday afternoon (July 9).
Emergency services descended on the scene shortly after 2.30pm after police were called to reports of a 'domestic disturbance.' He was rushed to hospital from the scene but tragically died a short time later, prompting GMP detectives to launch a murder investigation.
