A 'frail' man in his 80s was struck with a weapon before tragically dying in hospital, the Manchester Evening News understands.
A murder investigation has been launched after the elderly victim was found by paramedics in a 'critical condition' at a house on Riddings Road, Timperley, on Sunday afternoon (July 9) following a 'domestic disturbance'.
He was rushed to hospital from the scene but died a short time later. A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody for questioning. Emergency services swarmed Riddings Road, a typically quiet residential street, at around 2.30pm on Sunday following reports of a 'domestic disturbance', where the elderly victim was found in a 'critical condition'.
