The cause of death of a mum-of-two whose body was found on a footpath in Rochdale remains unknown as detectives probe suspected murder.
40-year-old Kerry Newman was found in the early hours of Monday morning (July 17) after emergency services were called to concern for the welfare of a person on a footpath near to Ashfield Primary School, New Barn Lane at around 4.30am.
Following the tragedy, which left nearby residents horrified and shocked, police said they were investigating 'suspicious circumstances' with detectives from the Major Incident team leading the enquiries. However on Wednesday (July 19) Greater Manchester Police said that enquiries have suggested that Kerry was taken from an address in Freehold to New Barn Lane, where she was found dead on Monday - but that her cause of death still remains unknown.
Officers have arrested a 48-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and they remain in custody for questioning.
