Metropolitan Police are investigating the alleged offences under the Honours (Prevention of Abuses) Act 1925.The investigation comes after a letter was reportedly penned by Prince Charles' former valet Michael Fawcett in 2017, which came to light last year. In the letter, Michael allegedly said he was willing to help a charity donor have his CBE upgraded to a knighthood.
