A man has been charged following the death of James 'Chucky' Ross in Cumbernauld after a murder investigation was launched.
Cops confirmed the 18-year-old had been arrested and charged in connection with the death of James on Monday, February 14. The 27-year-old was seriously injured during a disturbance in the Abronhill Shopping Centre on Larch Road, Abronhill, at around 4.30pm.
A murder investigation, led by Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, was launched yesterday following a post mortem investigation.
The suspect is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow.A 15-year-old male youth who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released pending further enquiries.Appealing for witnesses yesterday, Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Houliston said: “Our thoughts are with James’s family and friends.
