After many years of trying, Limerick has shaken the name of ‘Stab City’ and given itself a bright and beautiful new look, so when a recent Forbes article referred to the city by its old moniker, residents were naturally up in arms.
The article was written by a journalist from Dublin, who described how John and Patrick Collison, the founders of financial software Stripe, ‘escaped’ from ‘the murder capital of Europe’.
Understandably frustrated, Limerick natives Muireann O’Connell and Greg O’Shea hit back at the negative nickname on Instagram and in a lengthy Instagram rant, the Six O’Clock Show slammed the article as, ‘LAZY, outdated, elitist bulls**t.’ The headline has since been changed, removing the ‘Stab City’ reference, but still
