A$AP Rocky pleads not guilty to claims he fired a gun at former friend
A$AP Rocky has appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to allegations that he fired a gun at his former friend and collaborator in 2021.The rapper, real name Rakim Mayers, is accused of pointing a handgun at Terell Ephron in November 2021 and firing the weapon in his direction in a subsequent confrontation. He pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm at a Los Angeles court yesterday (January 8).Superior Court Judge Karla Kerlin has set the next pre-trial date for March 6 and the court heard a trial must take place within 45 days after that date.Sitting in court wearing a grey suit with a white pin-striped shirt, the rapper wished the judge a Happy New Year and gave his lawyers authorisation to appear on his behalf without his attendance at future hearings.Outside court, defence lawyer Joe Tacopina said the rapper was confident he would be vindicated and was eager to get a trial “over with so he can start enjoying his family”, according to Rolling Stone. He could be handed a sentence of up to 24 years in prison if convicted on all charges, prosecutors claim. It comes after a Los Angeles judge had previously ruled there was enough evidence for the rapper to stand trial after hearing testimony at a previous preliminary hearing. In 2019, Rocky was detained in Stockholm on suspicion that he and his entourage had assaulted a man in a previous separate case.

A$AP Rocky must stand trial on charges of firing gun at former friend
A$AP Rocky will stand trial over charges that he fired a gun at his former friend and collaborator in 2021, a US judge has ruled. The decision was reached Monday (November 20) during the second day of a preliminary hearing which Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, attended.Prosecutors say that Rocky pointed and fired a handgun at Terell Ephron on the street near the W Hotel Hollywood in November 2021, after being “lured” there to discuss a disagreement.Ephron, who was part of A$AP Mob under the stage name A$AP Relli alongside A$AP Rocky, also alleges separately that he is the victim of assault and battery, negligence and emotional distress, according to BBC.The rapper has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He could face up to nine years in prison if found guilty.Reports emerged in April of last year that Rocky had been arrested in connection with the alleged shooting. The Harlem rapper arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on a private plane from Barbados after visiting his girlfriend Rihanna – with whom he shares two sons – when he was detained by law enforcement officials.Superior court judge ML Villar said “the totality of the video and testimony” shows there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial, per The Guardian.“We’re not disappointed, not surprised, we expected to go to trial, we’ve been planning for trial all along,” A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, said outside court.

That’s ruff: Drake seemingly ‘Dogs’ Rihanna on new album
not the way to take care of Rihanna. After Drake was long rumored to have an on-again, off-again relationship with Rihanna while the two superstars cozied on up the charts together for some iconic collabs — from 2010’s “What’s My Name?” and 2016’s “Work” to, most memorably (for this critic), 2011’s “Take Care” — Drizzy certain seems to be in his salty feelings on his new album “For All the Dogs.”Dropping at 6 a.m. Friday morning instead of the usual midnight (Note to Drake: Please don’t go all Kanye on us with this last-minute release shuffling), the 23-track, 85-minute epic — which would have been a damn triple LP back in the day — appears to address Ri-Ri on the already-viral cut “Fear of Heights.”And when we say “appears,” well, the trolling track packs all of the subtlety of his recent barretted-up hair-don’t that had him looking like Tempest Bleddsoe aka Vanessa Huxtable from “The Cosby Show.”Over a spooky groove to set it off, Drake — who was rumored to not be having it when Rihanna boo’d and then baby’d up with A$AP Rocky — sure sounds like a bitter ex when he opens with, “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you?/That could never be/Gyal can’t be me/Better him than me/Better it’s not me.”The way that “gyal” appropriates Caribbean slang for “girl” leaves little doubt that he’s talking about the Barbadian beauty.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky‘s second child has been named Riot Rose Meyers, according to reports. It was reported that the child was born last month, and a birth certificate obtained by The Blast revealed that he was born on August 1 and named Riot Rose.It was previously claimed by TMZ that the name begins with an ‘R’ like his older brother RZA Athelston Mayers, who was born in May 2022.Rihanna announced she was expecting another baby during her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in Glendale, Arizona back in February. As the pop star began the career-spanning set with ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’, she appeared to rub her stomach through her all-red outfit. Her representatives subsequently confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child.Recently, Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA responded to Rihanna and ASAP Rocky naming their firstborn after him.He said it was “a great honour to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name”.RZA – real name Robert Fitzgerald Diggs – has previously explained that his moniker stands for “Ruler, Zi-Zag-Zig, Allah”, which translates to “Ruler, Knowledge-Wisdom-Understanding, Allah”.A$AP Rocky last month stirred up speculation that he and Rihanna had gotten married due to the lyrics of his recent single ‘Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)’.
