King Charles III will be taking centre stage as he appears as a guest in BBC's The Repair Shop.As part of the BBC's centenary celebrations, the newly appointed King will meet host Jay Blades and his expert team of craftspeople to explore and restore heirlooms and treasured antiques.In the episode the team will also repair two items specifically chosen by the monarch.READ MORE: Charles' coronation date confirmed but King 'denies Brits an extra bank holiday'The items that King Charles chooses to repair will be a piece of pottery made for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and an 18th century clock.The upcoming special was announced during Tuesday evening's The One Show and will air on October 26 at 8pm on BBC One.Sharing her thoughts on the show, BBC commissioning editor Julie Shaw said: "This is an incredibly special programme which has the magic that Repair Shop viewers have come to know and love."People will see the former Prince of Wales as you rarely see him – and he is as captivated by the skills of the team who work on his items as any of our Repair Shop visitors. "The episode is a real treat and we hope that people enjoy it as much as we do," she added.Executive producer of The Repair Shop and managing director of Ricochet Joanna Ball also said: "We’re so happy that The Repair Shop can play a part highlighting how important passing on craft skills to the next generation is."Hosting His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales at the barn was a real privilege for the whole team."The one hour special was filmed between autumn 2021 and March 2022, before Charles became King following the death of his mother the Queen in on September 8.The news comes after the date for King Charles and his wife Camilla, Queen Consort's.
