THE Repair Shop presenter Jay Blades is swapping the workshop’s benches for DJ decks and launching a surprising career as a disc jockey.
The host of the hugely popular BBC One restoration show host will play his first major gig at private members’ club The Ned in London this Saturday, before a string of gigs to show off his new skills across the country.
And while his telly show is family friendly, he has warned things will get steamy with his music choices when he plays live.
In an exclusive chat at a National Television Awards after-party last week, Jay told me: “I am now a DJ. I’m being taught by my friend, Ray Banton, and playing music that he supplies me. “You can expect Eighties and Nineties. “If you bring your partner down there you might get a bit naked, as the music does get a bit sexual.
