A devoted Kilmarnock dad will be taking on a unique fundraising challenge around the 10k Roon the Toon course this weekend for charity.Taylor Buntain is aiming to raise funds for local group Ayrshire AM-ASN Warriors, all while pushing son Elijah in his buggy. The not-for-profit group is designed to help children with additional support needs and their carers.

It’s a cause close to both their hearts with Elijah being a service user. With the group having moved premises, Taylor admitted it felt like the perfect way to help raise some funds to help with the move - and given he’s not the keenest of runners, he confessed it will have to be a case of mind over matter as he tackles the course through the town.Speaking to Ayrshire Live, he said: “They’re a great group and we’ve seen first hand the benefits and service they provide so I just wanted to help and try to give back a little.“The money raised will hopefully go towards equipment and helping them out a little bit - anything at all really that can be used to help provide the great service that they provide.“It was a bit of a spur of the moment idea and I’m not sure if my body will be thanking me for it.”He added: “I haven’t really been in to running for a few years so I’ve been getting reacquainted with it and it’s definitely a case of mind over matter.“Nobody really likes running do they?

It has its benefits and it’s good for your health but it’s definitely a challenge and my calves are always sore.“It will be good to be able to give something back and every single donation helps and is really appreciated.

The pain will be worth it.” If you would like to contribute to Taylor’s fundraising efforts, visit his Just Giving page here. Read next: Don't miss the latest Ayrshire
