That’s because Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader were replaced for the sequel. Amy Poehler reprises her role as Joy and was reportedly paid $5 million to provide her vocal talents for the movie.
There are plenty of other returning stars as well! Unfortunately, a deal couldn’t be reached to get Mindy and Bill to return. Keep reading to find out why… Puck reported back in September 2022 that Mindy and Bill didn’t sign on for the film because of a pay dispute.
One report said that while Amy was receiving millions, other cast members were only offered around $100,000 for their talents. “I had a great time working on Inside Out and am sure Inside Out 2 will be great.
