Judge orders destruction of dog after it bit woman on the face

Ann Mainwaring's dog Mylo, a German Shepherd-Akita crossbreed, lashed out at her son's girlfriend during a family argument on May 27 last year.

A judge upheld a destruction order at Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday (March 25). Mainwaring's son, Christopher Mainwaring, and his girlfriend, Sophie Moore, had travelled from Scarborough to stay for the weekend in Rochdale when the attack happened on May 27 last year.

Mainwaring, 53, had been at work when the couple arrived at the house in Milnrow but her partner Michael was at home with the dog.
