I just want to say a huge thank you to no. 1 to Mr Bryan Kirkwood who cast me as Cleo McQueen back in 2015 and changed my life forever.“I have truly had the best years of my life working on Hollyoaks.

Hollyoaks newcomer Angus Castle-Doughty has opened up about his character Eric Foster's new radical misogyny storyline.Fans of the Channel 4 soap recently watched Eric's disturbing behaviour intensify.The ground-breaking plot is set to exploring incel culture, with Eric telling his sister Vertiy Hutchinson that he considers the likes of Cleo McQueen and Joel Dexter, who have just reunited, "pointless".The term 'incel" or "involuntary celibate" refers to people who define themselves as unable to get a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one.Opening up about the first moment he found out about Eric's dramatic storyline, Angus told Daily Star: "I think I physically jumped out of my seat when I read that Eric was going to type 'A Manifesto' at the end of Thursday's episode."Once I sat back down, I had to start working straight away to be honest, you have to ask constant questions of your character in order to allow you to portray the role."If you don't understand their thoughts then you're doing an impression of someone doing bad things, so I had to understand the emotions first, then build a world around the dialogue second."A few weeks ago, Eric was responsible for giving schoolboy Charlie Osborne (Charlie Behan) some disturbing advice, which led to a humiliating ordeal for his teacher Olivia Bradshaw (Emily Burnett).Eric's resentment towards woman also haven't gone unnoticed his sister Verity Hutchinson (Eva O'Hara).Discussing the important of tacking the subject of misogyny, Angus said: "I've said this throughout the process, but I think this is one of the most important and under explored topics in any media, let alone on such a brilliant show as Hollyoaks."I'm enormously proud that we are telling this story and
