Hollyoaks star Rita Simons has spoken out about her character's fate after a shocking revelation that Marie Fielding is still alive.
The drama unfolded during the soap's stunt week when Marie was gravely injured as Cleo McQueen, played by Nadie Mulkerrin, crashed a motorbike into the McQueens' home.
Following complications at the hospital, Marie was whisked away for emergency treatment. Her son Abe Fielding, portrayed by Tyler Conti, ominously informed his girlfriend Cleo that his mother had passed away, blaming her for the tragedy.
Since then, no one else in the show has referred to Marie's supposed demise, and she was notably absent from the soap's inaugural time-jump episode on Monday (September 16).
