Thrill-seekers will be surrounded by Viking chats, shields and swords and axes as decorations.Having opened on May 28, this week was the first where Brits could get stuck into the all new attractions.They include the Loki ride, named after the Viking god of trickery, which features eight gondolas and four arms that rotate in a speedy orbit.Plus, the Thor ride – named after the dod of thunder – sees adrenaline junkies spin around on an enormous wheel.And, rollercoaster Jormungandr – also known as the World Serpent – is perfect for little ones as it’s the Buffalo coaster reimagined.Children will also be able to go horse riding – on mechanical animals – at the park as part of the new Sleipnir attraction which sees them taught what it takes to be a god themselves.If you’re in need of a snack or beverage while in the Viking land you can head to the Walhalla restaurant.The eatery serves up BBQ-style food like chicken wings, jacket potatoes, pulled pork baps and hot and cold drinks.And, you don’t have to leave at the end of the day as holidaymakers can choose to stay overnight in one of the Viking-themed rooms at the 4-star Drayton Manor hotel.Kids will be thrilled by the traditional wooden panelling, shields and paintings of ancient Viking adventures.Plus, all the furniture is inspired by Nordic style.Victoria Lynn, managing director at Drayton Manor Resort, said: “After seeing the buzz and excitement following the big reveal last month, we are thrilled to have finally welcomed guests to our exciting and mythical new Vikings-themed area.“We know so many guests have been on the edge of their seats waiting.
