England cricket star Stuart Broad has been destroyed by a huge fire.Firefighters were called to the Tap and Run in Upper Broughton, on the border between Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, at around 3:20am on Saturday morning.
Images show the pub ablaze as fire ripped through the roof of the building.Eight fire crews attended the incident at the height of the blaze, with later pictures showing the extent of the damage.
A significant portion of the roof appears to have caved in, and both of the top front windows are also burnt out. There is not believed to have been any injuries or fatalities, with The Nottingham Post claiming there was no-one present inside the pub at the time of the fire.In an initial statement, Broad and fellow co-owner Harry Gurney - also an England cricketer - said: "We are devastated to announce that due to a significant fire in the early hours of June 11th The Tap & Run will not be trading for the foreseeable future."We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of support.
And finally... we will be back! Watch this space."Former seamer Gurney, who used to play for Nottinghamshire, later added: "We are obviously devastated but relieved that there was no loss of life.
