Coronation Street set is haunted, from claims of real ghost sightings to mysterious presences, dead cast members set on romance to noises which drove bosses to perform an exorcism. It seems like Corrie has seen it all. Many people have even refused to step foot on the location, including BBC Two’s Inside Number 9, and a band hired for a Corrie cast party – and Most Haunted have even been involved. There have been many famous faces that have walked through Corrie's iconic cobbled streets over the years and cast and crew have reported sightings of some of their most recognisable characters.A band, which was hired to play at the cast’s wrap party, once refused to play on set after they reported seeing a ghost.

The gathering was due to take place at the series’ original home in Old Granada Studios, but during rehearsals the band claimed they heard “strange banging noises” which they put down to some spooky paranormal activity.

They refused to play unless an exorcist cleansed the location, which Granadaland agreed to and the general manager Christopher Wandsworth spoke to Planet Radio about the situation."The Old Granada Studios is one of the most iconic venues in the country, and we want to make sure that everyone is happy and comfortable before the event,” Christopher said.He went on to say that the exorcism was their “last resort” but “without acts, they wouldn't have a show”.The set eventually fell into disrepair and one heartbroken fan told Manchester Evening News that the place was like a “soap graveyard” due to “all the characters” who have walked its streets.
