spectre of war looms in Ukraine, there remains one piece of architecture in the eastern city of Donetsk that harks back to a much happier and more optimistic time.
The Donbass Arena will be a familiar name to many football fans. Once home to Champions League regulars Shakhtar Donetsk, the 50,000-seater stadium has hosted some of the beautiful game's richest matches.Built at a cost of £295million and designed by the same construction firm who came up with the Etihad and the Allianz Arena, the stadium is - and remains still - a work of art.
It hosted five games at Euro 2012, including England's 1-0 win over Ukraine and the semi-final between Spain and Portugal which finished 0-0.
And as the home of Ukrainian giants Shakhter Donetsk, it also received regular exposure in the Champions League as the 13-time champions flew the flag for eastern Europe.
