Iconic UK tourist attractions rank in list of world's ‘worst value for money’ sights

Holidaymakers have been spotted queueing for hours just to pass security checks and even missing flights due to the massive lines.So, plenty of people looking to go away in the Easter or summer holidays are opting to soak up the sights within the British Isles.Unfortunately, though, analysis has shown that some of Britain’s most famous attractions have been found to be bad value.New research by ParkSleepFly analysed the cost of an adult’s single-day admission ticket to 30 of the world’s top tourist attractions, as well as the number of ‘poor’ and ‘terrible’ reviews received by each attraction, to reveal the world’s worst value for money tourist attractions.And, sadly, top spots like Stonehenge and Buckingham Palace were on the list of the worst value sights.Buckingham Palace ranked in second place.A visit to the State Rooms at the royal residency will cost you £30, however, 3.3% of visitors have not been impressed with their visit to the home of the Queen.Fortunately, it’s free to see the palace from the outside so if you head to see the changing of the guards for a great value experience.Also ranking in second place is Stonehenge.Visitors to the ancient monument have to pay £19.50 to visit, but criticisms found on Tripadvisor include the fact that you aren’t allowed to touch the stones, and one disgruntled reviewer described the attraction as “just a bunch of rocks”.We’d say there is a little more to the attraction than that as there’s also lots of information on the stones, their meaning and how they were raised so it’s up to you if that sounds like your cup of tea.The London Eye and Edinburgh Castle castle also ranked among the worst-value attractions,.
