A Mercedes driver filmed taking all the rubber gloves from a petrol pump in Salford has apologised for his 'selfish and irresponsible actions' saying he 'deeply regrets' what he did.

As the Manchester Evening News reported, dash cam footage recorded by Steve Harrison at Tesco in Walkden, Salford on Thursday, showed the driver grabbing about 15 pairs of the blue protective gloves.

Public Health England are advising drivers to wear gloves when filling up their cars to combat the spread of coronavirus. In the footage Steve, 54, can be seen walking over to the Mercedes to confront the driver.

He said: "I felt so strongly about what he’d done that I had to go over and confront him. I wasn't holding back. "It was just an instant reaction.
