Amanda Owen is taking 'drastic measures' after sad stillbirth on the Ravenseat farm.Opening up about the sad ordeal, Amanda shared a series of candid snaps that showed a calf called Stormy trying to feed on her adoptive mother Lily, who had suffered a stillbirth.

Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Amanda penned a post which reads: "The best way of persuading Lily that Stormy the calf is her own is to use stillborn calf’s skin to disguise her."Skinning is not an easy nor vaguely pleasant task as it is wet & slippery with birth fluids but this should make it more successful in the long run."Removal of the dead calf’s skin is not as gory as might be the expectation but nevertheless I’ve refrained from showing too much detail."She then continued: "Most important is that the tail remains complete as this is what the mother sniffs when the adoptee suckles," before adding: "IMAGES GIVE IDEA OF PROCESS BUT AREN’T OVERLY GRAPHIC."Fans were quick to praise Amanda for her work, with one writing: "Well done Amanda, not a very nice task, let's hope Lily takes to her."Another said: "From death comes life, you’ve saved a calf also saved a mother who would’ve pined for her baby I can imagine it wasn’t pleasant but it’s also a necessity."While a third penned: "I saw you do this with a lamb on one of your episodes on TV, so amazing that you can save another life.
