Prince Andrew have demanded the road name be changed due to his civil sex case.Locals have fumed that 'it's not right' to keep the name of 'Prince Andrew's Drive' for the street in Telford, Shropshire, as he faces a civil case in the US accused of sexually assaulting Virginia Guiffre when she was 17.Ms Giuffre has alleged that she was trafficked by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew's friend and a convicted sex offender, and forced to have sex with the Queen’s son three times between 1999 and 2002, in New York, London, and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island. The Duke of York has continued to vehemently deny the claims.

But with a lawsuit filed against the 61-year-old, residents on Prince Andrew Drive told the Shropshire Star that they were considering writing to council to demand his name is removed. One local, who wished to remain anonymous, said it’s “not right that it’s named after him”."We've been thinking about writing to them," they said.Another resident doubled down on the suggestion a change was in order, but suggested the replacement name should keep the royal theme. They said the street could instead be named after one of the Cambridge children, taking the name either Prince George, Prince Louis or Princess Charlotte. However, residents Terry and Kim Beech believe the name should stay the same.Terry said he didn't think the council should change it because of what had happened, and claimed it didn't really bother him."You can't keep rewriting history," he said."It's always been Prince Andrew Drive.

You can't keep changing things. You can't erase history."He's still part of the royal family." For the latest weather updates and breaking news stories from the UK and across the globe, sign up for our.
