Prince Andrew's comeback will be "impossible" following the settlement of his civil sex assault case, a royal expert has claimed.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Duke Of York avoided court by financially settling with Virginia Roberts for an "undisclosed sum".The 61 year old had a civil case against him filed by Virginia, 38, in August last year, alleging he had sexually assaulted her when Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her.

And now Nigel Cawthorne, author of Prince Andrew: Epstein, Maxwell and the Palace, has claimed that Andrew's return to public duty will still be out of the question.

"There are still legal clouds gathering over his head. "But most of all, he continued his friendship with two underage-sex traffickers even after allegations were made against these friends." Nigel added: "It is impossible to see how he can ever return to public duty without those serious errors of judgement following him for the rest of his public life." In the civil case brought against him by Virginia, it was claimed that Andrew had assaulted her on three occasions when she was under the age of 18, which the Duke denied.
