Prince Andrew has reportedly enlisted big brother Prince Charles to help pay his settlement bill. The Duke of York, 62, must pay a reported £7million to Virginia Roberts Giuffre but according to a friend of Andrew, he has no funds. The source told The Sun: “[Andrew] has no income or money to repay a bank loan so the family is the only way to guarantee the payment.” With nine days to go before the deadline, Prince Charles has reportedly lent his unemployed sibling £7million, but he’s not the only royal to bail out the duke. The Queen reportedly funded his eye-wateringly expensive legal battle and has chipped in with the settlement bill, too.

Andrew sold his £17million ski chalet in Verbier, Switzerland to foot the bill - but the cash could take months to come through.

A source revealed that the court won’t wait for the property sale money - the settlement must be paid on time. “He can’t rely on selling the chalet. There were family discussions about how to ‘take a little from here and a little from there. “Once it [the sale money] hits his bank account, he can pay back his brother and whoever else has lent him money.” Andrew has agreed not to repeat his claim that he didn’t sexually assault Virginia Giuffre, and was reportedly ‘tearful’ when the Queen stripped him of his honorary titles. The Duke has been absent from public life for some months, living a solitary life at Royal Lodge in Windsor. The enormous 31 bedroom property - worth £30million - is close to the Queen’s residence, and Andrew has been making nightly visits to his mother each evening.
