Police, fire crews, paramedics and mountain rescue were all involved in the operation close to the River Roch last night (Tuesday).
It was triggered after a man in his 20s had been reported missing, Greater Manchester Police (GMP). READ MORE: Mum of young man saved from jumping off M62 bridge praises hero lorry driver The ambulance service said they received reports someone was in the river shortly before 6pm.
Pictures from the scene showed a large number of emergency service vehicles and personnel near the stretch of the river off Bamford Road.
