Barbecue favourites burgers and sausages are being ditched by health-savvy Brits. Fitness nuts are slapping cuts of lean lamb, chicken and pork on the grill instead of the cheap and cheerful classics.
Marinated fish and salad also feature on the new menu instead of fatty foods, a new report reveals. The data shows health was a factor in 17.4million summer barbecue choices in the past year – a surge of 63% from 2018.
Burgers were served up at just a third of the outdoor parties in Britain last year and sausages featured in just 30%. Rebecca Gladden, from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board explained: “ In the summer our eating habits change.
