drug cartel has sent a chilling video message to a rival gang, threatening to "purge" a town of other criminals. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) are one of Mexico's largest drug trafficking organisations.
Their latest narco message comes from the city of Uruapan in the state of Michoacan, where they are currently locked in a bloody drug war with Los Viagras, a cartel headed by gangster Nicolás 'El Gordo' Sierra Santana. The two groups have been fighting for control of the Tierra Caliente region for a number of years now, and in the latest video clip the CJNG appear trying to win over the region's residents.
A translation of the video by Borderland Beat starts: "For all the citizenry of Uruapan. We send you a cordial greeting from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel."We are purging this area of extortions, kidnappings, and fee collections. "Don’t be afraid townspeople of Uruapan.
We’re here to support you guys."The gang, clad in balaclavas and camouflage uniforms whilst holding guns, then specifically address three members of Los Viagras - "the following trio of f*****g thieves: Catorce, Galleta, and Piña".
