The devastated mum of a little girl crushed by a falling fireplace says she has been 'robbed of her normal life' as the family prepare to take legal action.
Alexa-Leigh Blakemore had been playing in the living room of her rented house when the horrifying accident occurred on September 10, the Liverpool Echo reports.The six-year-old barely escaped with her life after the stone and marble fireplace came loose at Colesborne Road property in Norris Green, trapping her underneath.
She rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and treated in intensive care for a fractured skull which had caused a bleed on her brain, with mum Elle Williams and dad Kieran Blakemore not knowing if she would pull through.
