Nigel Murphy had represented the Hulme ward for 15 years before being de-selected by Labour ahead of this year’s postponed local elections.
He has now been employed by Cratus Communications, a public affairs and communications agency which specialises in local government, as an associate director and will head up their Manchester office.
Mr Murphy joins a long list of former and serving local and national politicians - including councillors, council leaders and MPs - within Cratus’
