A family who are being evicted from their rented home have been warned by the council that they could be moved to a new property 250 miles away - and told that they should see it as a "holiday".
Mum-of-three Rae Layton, 43, was given a shock eviction notice in April forcing her to move out of her rented home in Cornwall and claims she was later told that her family may be moved as far as Cardiff in Wales.
Rae, who lives in Ponsanooth, has been given until July to find a new home but due to soaring rent and house prices, this is proving very difficult. Rae said: "The council worker told me that my kids can look at it as a holiday. She didn't mean anything bad by it but it's just a horrible situation to be in. ''On the 22nd April I got an email saying she wanted us out.
