£105 million on the National Lottery have not let it go to their heads and have only bought a few second-hand cars and a house.Steve Thomson, a former white van man dubbed "Mr Sensible"by his mates, won the life-changing amount in 2019 but he and his wife Lenka have been frugal with their winnings. The Sun reports that shortly after their windfall, the pair splashed out modestly on a Volvo XC90 and a second-hand van for Steve. He also put "tens of millions" into a trust with the Queen's bank invested into property, stocks and shares. It's thought the reported £30 million investment with Coutts & Co could net the pair an extra £90 million in the future.Of course, the couple did have some fun with their winnings. At the time of the win, the couple were living in a three-bed, £150,000, terraced council house with their three kids.It took Steve over a year to splash out on a new £4.5 million property in Kent. They moved to the sprawling estate in April, complete with tennis courts, a swimming pool, lakes, stables and landscaped gardens within the 14.5 acres. The 7000 sq ft farmhouse also features two kitchens, six bedrooms and five reception rooms and Steve said he intends to do the DIY on the place himself.Speaking to the Sun, he said: “The kids have finally got their own bedrooms.

It’s a simple thing but it was all they ever wished for.“I still haven’t got over what happened to us and am honestly still trying to process it still.
