dailystar.co.ukEurovision 2022 star Sam Ryder has given a sneak-peek into his Eurovision prep.The TikTok star took to his Instagram stories yesterday (April 26) to give his 3.7 million followers an update on the Eurovision song contest and what he is doing to prepare himself.The Space Man singer recognised that Eurovision 2022 is less than three weeks away which means he will soon be "singing [his] head off in front of 200 million people."Ahead of the contest, the 32 year old said: "I wanted to talk to people who operate and perform under mad amounts of pressure while maintaining their focus and fortitude."The singer then introduced the first mini episode in his news series Pep Talk, where he spoke to "real life Astronaut and space man" André Kuipers.André, 63, gave Sam the advice: "Most important thing is preparation."The Dutch physician continued: "If you are on stage, you are the expert, you know everything and that's the same for astronauts."Sam, who admitted he views André as a superhero, responded: "It's so inspiring finding those little connections, however small, but they're so tangible, just your perception and how fear is a total fabrication that vanishes with focus."The British singer concluded that the energy he has around him that comes from his friends and colleges is "crucial."He then posted a photo with former Eurovision star Conchita who he called a "fabulous human."Sam's pop music covers went viral on TikTok during the pandemic and caught the attention of singers including Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Alicia Keys.
The online sensation, who has around 12 million followers, went on to secure a record deal with Warner Music Group label Parlophone, which boasts acts like Coldplay and David Guetta.The decision to choose Sam.
