Elon Musk has said Starlink will only block Russian news sources at "gunpoint" after claiming governments have been putting the pressure in him to do so as Russian state media shares propaganda about the war in UkraineEarlier this week the Tesla billionaire set up Ukraine with Starlink in efforts to ensure the besieged nation can access the internet and maintain reliable communication as the former Soviet state continues to bomb and launch airstrikes that could cut off or intercept internet signals.Starlink, operated by SpaceX, can provide satellite Internet access to most corners of the word through terminals which work like satellite dishes. However, while Nato and its allies impose sweeping sanctions on Russia and its oligarchs, the 50-year-old has stopped his support of Ukraine short, favouring the preservation of free speech over tackling misinformation amidst Russia's invasion, calling himself a "free speech absolutist" in a recent Twitter post.

The SpaceX founder tweeted: "Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources. We will not do so unless at gunpoint."Sorry to be a free speech absolutist."Pressure has been mounting on Musk to block Russian news outlets after the EU banned state-controlled RT and Sputnik across its 27 member states on Wednesday, March 2, effective immediately, reports LADBible.
