A driver has appeared in court to admit causing the death of a schoolgirl. Andrew Cairns, 36, pleaded guilty to causing the death of 11-year-old Ruby Cropper by careless driving.

Cairns also admitted failing to stop after an accident. Manchester's courts are some of the busiest in the country with a vast array of cases heard every week.
