What gives him the right to the final say?It seems to me that you’ve bent over backwards to offer all manner of compromises to your husband.
Your letter suggests his objections are based on the hassle of looking after a dog, rather than an objection to smells or a distaste for getting licked; but in any case, you’ve chosen a breed that is pretty much non-moulting, easily trainable and a delightful companion.
You have guaranteed that you’ll do all the poo-picking, walkies, feeding and everything else involved in owning a dog.As for holidays abroad – does your husband seriously think UK dog owners never get on a plane?
