A retired nurse arrested after taking her mum, 97, out of a care home said she would 'risk jail' to be able to hug her. Ylenia Angeli, 73, was terrified that she wouldn't be able to see her dementia -suffering mother Tina Thornborough again due to the second national lockdown imposed in England.
She went to her care home on Tuesday with a bunch of roses and wheeled her mum out without permission from staff and against Covid regulations.
Shortly afterwards she was detained by police who were called by staff at the Northgate Care Home in Market Weighton, East Yorks.
Ylenia said she knew she had no right to remove her mother from the home, and acted on impulse, but says she is willing to go to prison for the right to hold her mother again
