LOS ANGELES — As Los Angeles County officials announced modifications to the stay-at-home order Thursday to allow the limited reopening of Gyms/fitness facilities, museums, galleries, zoos, and aquariums, with proper modification to adhere to COVID-19 prevention, the LA County Department of Public Health confirmed 46 new deaths and 1,857 new cases of COVID-19.
A spokesperson for the Department of Public Health confirmed in an email to the Blade that this was the single largest daily total of confirmed cases of the virus, factored into that total was 600 cases as a result of a backlog of test results.
To date, Public Health has identified 68,875 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of LA County, and a total of 2,813 deaths.
